Bug #288: Processor Usage

Kind bug
Product Synergy Advance
When Created 8/15/2005, updated 7/5/2006
Status open
Reporter Jacob L Hackamack
Tags no tags

Description

The processor usage when running Synergy Advance always stays around the 7% to 10% range, even when its not doing anything. This severly causes a dramatic drop in the amount of battery time that I get on my laptop.

What preferences do you have set? There are some settings that you could turn off that would improve CPU usage significantly (for example, turning off the Dock icon, animation etc). On my machine (1GHz PowerBook) Synergy Advance is shown as using 0.0% when doing nothing.

If you want to attach your preferences file to this report you'll find it at:

    ~/Library/Preferences/com.wincent.SynergyAdvance.plist

Interesting. You don't seem to have any big CPU drain options turned on. What are the specs on your machine? You could try taking a sample with the Activity Monitor to see where the app is spending its time.
